Green and Grey Express Kitchen for an Open-Plan Family Room

This Ealing kitchen occupies the centre of an open-plan family room, with seating at one end and dining at the other. Light grey UV lacquer from the German Express Clean range carries the upper half of the room, while dark green soft matt below the worktop gives the scheme its colour and weight. A Systemline handle trim keeps the fronts flat and unbroken, and LED lighting beneath the wall units warms the room through the evening.

The island is the natural centre of the space. Unique Stone Imperial Oro porcelain runs its full length, carrying a NEFF N70 Vented Induction Hob at the cooking end, drawing steam down through the surface and leaving the sightline across the room clear, before widening into an overhang that seats four. A waterfall end finishes the island where the kitchen meets the dining area. Behind it, the sink wall rises into full-height porcelain, and a column of open shelving beside the tall units holds cookbooks, family photographs, and other personal items.

The tall run houses an N50 Slide & Hide oven and a microwave with at eye level. The fridge freezer, dishwasher, and washer-dryer sit behind matching doors. A Quooker Flex provides instant boiling water, while the Blanco Subline sink keeps the preparation area simple and practical. A bar area completes the design, bringing together an undercounter wine cooler, a backlit display cabinet in frosted glass and a full-height cupboard that keeps the coffee machine and smaller appliances out of sight.
